Cavehill Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Senior Actuarial Consultant to join a premier European actuarial consulting team. The position is ideal for an experienced actuary looking for a dynamic environment within a rapidly expanding international organization. You will have the flexibility to work from one of several European office locations or from home, supported by regular in-person collaboration with a high-caliber team.
Key Responsibilities

Actuarial Function Leadership: Hold the position of Head of Actuarial Function (or equivalent) for insurance companies domiciled in European territories.

Project Management: Lead and manage complex Solvency II-related projects, including technical provisions, capital requirement calculations (SCR), and relevant regulatory disclosures.

Client Advisory: Act as a trusted advisor to new and existing clients on Solvency II compliance, risk management, and regulatory reporting.
- Reserving & Risk Assessment: Lead reserving studies for captives and commercial non-life insurers and assist clients in developing and implementing their Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) processes.
- Strategic Consulting: Provide expert advice on a range of offerings, including Risk Finance Optimization and Multi-Line/Multi-Year modelling.
- Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with client finance, risk, and compliance teams to ensure cohesive regulatory implementation.
- Peer Review: Maintain high standards of quality by conducting peer reviews across various actuarial deliverables.
What we require
- Qualifications: You are a fully qualified actuary (IFoA or equivalent) and a member in good standing of a recognized actuarial institute.
- Professional Experience: Minimum of six years of experience within the non-life insurance industry, gained either in a consultancy or directly within a (re)insurance undertaking.
- Regulatory Expertise: Proven ability to hold Solvency II Actuarial Function titles and experience signing independent reserve reviews for global commercial lines.
- Communication: Exceptional presentation skills, with the ability to explain technical actuarial concepts to non-actuarial stakeholders.
- Technical Skills: * Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive approach.
- Programming proficiency in R, Python, or VBA.
- Familiarity with IFRS 17, insurance pricing models, and offshore regulatory requirements (e.g., Bermuda, Cayman Islands) is highly beneficial.
