In an era of evolving AI governance, climate-related risks, and shifting Solvency frameworks, our clients need proactive leaders who can move beyond compliance to create genuine enterprise resilience. You will be responsible for the integrity of the risk framework, ensuring that strategic ambitions remain aligned with risk appetite.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Framework Oversight: Design, implement, and maintain the Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) framework across all business lines.

  • Emerging Risk Identification: Lead deep-dives into 2026’s critical areas, including AI ethics and governance, ESG/Climate risk integration, and cyber resilience.

  • Risk Appetite & Strategy: Partner with the Board to define and monitor risk appetite statements, ensuring capital allocation reflects the firm’s risk profile.

  • ORSA & Regulatory Reporting: Direct the production of the Own Risk and Solvency Assessment (ORSA) and ensure seamless compliance with PRA (UK) and CBI (Ireland) standards.

  • Crisis & Continuity: Lead scenario planning and stress testing exercises to prepare the organization for market shocks and operational disruptions.

Requirements:

  • Experience: 5+ years in a Risk Management role specifically within the insurance sector (Life, GI, or Health).

  • Professional Credentials: Ideally hold a relevant qualification such as Chartered Insurance Risk Manager, IRM Diploma, or an MSc in Risk Management.

  • Regulatory Fluency: Deep understanding of Solvency II, Solvency UK, and the Senior Managers and Certification Regime (SM&CR).

  • Soft Skills: Exceptional stakeholder management skills; the ability to challenge senior leadership constructively and foster a strong risk culture.
