Cavehill Consulting is seeking a high-caliber Non-Life Senior Consultant to join a market-leading general insurance practice in London. This team holds a dominant position in the London and Bermuda markets, performing independent reserve reviews for over 50% of the Lloyd’s market and maintaining extensive coverage in capital modelling and Solvency II projects.

This role is designed for an actuary who excels in "classic consulting"—combining technical mastery with intensive client interaction at the senior executive and board levels. You will work on bespoke offerings that recognize the uniqueness of client portfolios, moving beyond conventional actuarial fields into strategy, risk management, and advanced analytics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Project Ownership: Lead at least one major workstream within large engagements, ensuring technical excellence and high-quality delivery.
  • Client Management: Manage stakeholder expectations regarding content, timescales, and costs, serving as a key point of contact for prestigious London Market clients.
  • Executive Presentation: Assist senior management in presenting complex findings and strategic recommendations to Board-level audiences.
  • Business Development: Identify growth opportunities within the existing client base and contribute to winning new business through high-quality proposals.
  • Team Leadership: Foster a positive learning culture by coaching and mentoring junior staff, supporting their professional development and career progression.
  • Market Innovation: Stay abreast of market trends to help insurance companies improve operations through process transformation and regulatory change.

Our Requirements

  • Qualifications: Fully qualified actuary (IFoA or equivalent) with a strong academic record.
  • Professional Experience: A proven track record in General Insurance, ideally gained within a top-tier consultancy or a specialist financial services firm.
  • Technical Breadth: You should demonstrate expertise in at least two of the following areas:
  • Independent reserve reviews (P&C) within London and Bermuda markets.
  • Development or review of Solvency II technical provisions and internal models.
  • Reserve risk assessment using stochastic techniques.
  • Integration of reserving with pricing, claims, and underwriting.
  • Development of risk management frameworks.
  • Core Competencies: Numerate, rational thinker with a passion for the field and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills, with the ability to influence a variety of stakeholders.

Our client provides a comprehensive Total Rewards package designed to support your career and personal well-being:

  • Performance-Based Reward: Competitive remuneration tied to both individual and team success.
  • Flexibility: Support for flexible working arrangements and a diverse, inclusive culture.
