About the Role

Cavehill Consulting is proud to be representing a global reinsurance organisation in their search for a Director of Actuarial based in Bermuda.
This position reports directly to the Chief Actuary and offers a unique opportunity to join a growing actuarial team within a dynamic international reinsurance business.

Key Responsibilities:

. Lead the asset modeling process across various asset classes, including structured and private investments.
. Implement and maintain robust internal controls to ensure governance and consistency.
. Conduct credit memo and bond documentation reviews, and perform cashflow analysis and stress testing.
. Present key findings to the ALM Risk Committee and collaborate with investment teams on data and modeling accuracy.
. Support quarterly and annual actuarial reporting, regulatory submissions, and financial disclosures.
. Contribute to new deal modeling, assumption setting, and enhancements of actuarial controls.
. Conduct experience studies and valuation assumption updates.
. Drive automation and efficiency improvements in actuarial processes.
. Stay informed on industry and regulatory developments and help interpret implications on capital and reserving.

Required Qualifications:

. Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (Actuarial Science, Finance, Risk, etc.)
. FSA designation (or ASA with significant experience)
. 10+ years’ experience in actuarial roles within life or annuity (re)insurance or consulting
. Proficiency in Excel and programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL
. Strong communication, analytical, and project ownership skills

Preferred Experience:

. CFA designation or fixed-income expertise
. Familiarity with Moody’s AXIS, Bloomberg, or other asset modeling tools
. Knowledge of US GAAP, Bermuda EBS, BSCR, RBC, or Solvency II
. Experience with annuities and life products
. Leadership and project management experience
