About the Role
Cavehill Consulting is proud to be working on behalf of a prestigious global consultancy as they expand their Financial Services Technology practice in Ireland. As part of a major strategic growth programme in AI, data, and digital transformation, they are looking to hire a Technical Data Manager at Manager level to join their Dublin-based team.

This role will play a critical part in the design and delivery of enterprise data management solutions for major clients in banking, insurance, and wealth & asset management. You will oversee data governance, architecture, lineage, and quality initiatives, enabling regulatory compliance and strategic business change.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage data-focused workstreams for large-scale transformation programmes in the financial services sector.

  • Collaborate with IT and business teams to capture, document and prioritise data requirements aligned with business change or regulatory programmes.

  • Analyse existing data processes and infrastructure, identify gaps and improvement areas, and design scalable data management solutions.

  • Ensure alignment with compliance and governance standards such as BCBS239.

  • Oversee the design and implementation of data lineage, quality, and integrity processes across source-to-report systems.

  • Provide leadership and guidance on technical data issues, including root cause analysis and remediation strategies.

  • Act as a key liaison between business, technical, and data stakeholders, ensuring alignment and clarity throughout the data lifecycle.

  • Lead thought leadership activities, including research on regulatory trends and emerging data technologies.

  • Support training and adoption efforts to embed new data capabilities across the business.


Candidate Requirements

  • A bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Information Technology, Finance, or Economics.

  • Minimum 10 years of professional experience, including roles leading data workstreams or teams within a consulting or professional services environment.

  • Strong experience delivering data management, governance, or data engineering projects for financial services clients.

  • Deep understanding of financial data domains, including risk, finance, regulatory reporting, and compliance.

  • Technical expertise with tools such as Informatica, Talend, IBM InfoSphere, SAS, Alation, Collibra, and database technologies (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).

  • Proficiency in SQL and Excel; experience with Python, R, Git, and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) is highly desirable.

  • Solid knowledge of data governance frameworks, metadata management, and data lineage principles.

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage and influence technical and non-technical stakeholders alike.

  • Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines in complex environments.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Certifications in DAMA, DCAM, or Data Engineering/Management.

  • Agile or project management certifications (e.g., PMP, Scrum Master).

  • Experience with NoSQL technologies (MongoDB, Cassandra, Neo4j).

  • Prior experience preparing and delivering regulatory or management information reports.

  • A proactive, collaborative approach and a continuous improvement mindset.
