The Opportunity

As Audit Director, you will lead and manage a portfolio of dynamic audit clients in the privately-owned business space across a variety of sectors, including technology, retail, distribution, professional services, and engineering. You will report to senior leadership and play a critical role in audit quality, team development, commercial growth, and client relationship management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and deliver high-quality audit engagements for a broad client portfolio

  • Ensure consistency in audit approach and compliance with global audit methodology

  • Manage team resources effectively and contribute to departmental performance targets (FCR, billing, fee income, cash collection)

  • Mentor, train, and develop team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment

  • Collaborate with Tax and Financial Advisory teams on strategic advisory work, including:

    • Strategic business planning

    • Technical accounting for acquisitions or structural changes

    • Framework transitions (e.g. IFRS)

  • Drive client service excellence while supporting the firm’s long-term growth agenda


Candidate Profile

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a minimum of 5 years' post-qualification experience

  • Background in a medium or large practice environment

  • Proven leadership and people management experience

  • Strong commercial acumen and a strategic mindset

  • Excellent communication, client relationship, and influencing skills

  • Organised, proactive, and able to perform under pressure

  • Strong digital literacy and audit software experience
