We are currently partnering with a fantastic, well-established business in the financial services sector, known for its commitment to innovation and technical excellence in actuarial science. They are looking for a highly capable and motivated Actuarial Modelling Consultant or Senior Consultant to join their dynamic team in Ireland.
The Opportunity
This is an excellent chance to take a pivotal role in the development, maintenance, and enhancement of actuarial models used for critical financial reporting and business decision-making. You will be instrumental in driving model efficiency, incorporating new regulatory requirements, and leveraging advanced programming techniques.
We are looking for an experienced actuary with a strong background in financial modelling and a passion for data-driven solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Design, implement, and validate complex actuarial models for reporting, valuation, and capital management purposes (e.g., IFRS 17, Solvency II).

Drive model transformation projects, ensuring models are robust, efficient, and well-governed.

Collaborate closely with Reporting, Risk, and IT teams to integrate modelling solutions into the wider business infrastructure.

Apply advanced programming skills to automate processes, improve calculation speed, and enhance data handling capabilities.

Produce clear and comprehensive documentation for models, ensuring adherence to internal policies and regulatory standards.

Provide technical expertise and mentorship to junior team members (relevant to Senior Consultant level).
What You Must Have (Essential Requirements)

Actuarial Qualification: Minimum of 6 IFOA/equivalent exams passed, progressing towards qualification (Qualified Actuary status is highly advantageous for the Senior Consultant level).

Modelling Expertise: Proven experience working extensively in or alongside actuarial reporting or modelling teams (Life or Non-Life backgrounds considered).

Programming Proficiency: Demonstrable professional experience with programming languages, particularly Python and/or R, applied within an actuarial or financial context.

Technical Acumen: Strong understanding of actuarial principles, valuation methodologies, and financial reporting standards.

Communication Skills: Excellent ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
